What PhotoBridge does

PhotoBridge helps you move your Google Photos to your own cloud storage (OneDrive, Dropbox, or Amazon S3). We read your Google Takeout archive files from Google Drive, temporarily process them on our worker, extract and organize your photos, and upload them to the destination you choose.

Data we collect

  • Google account info — your name, email address, and profile picture, provided by Google when you sign in.
  • Photo metadata — file names, sizes, dates, and EXIF data (camera, GPS coordinates) are stored so we can generate your migration report. We do not store the photos themselves.
  • Cloud storage credentials — if you connect OneDrive, Dropbox, or Amazon S3, we store encrypted OAuth tokens or access keys to upload on your behalf.

Data we do NOT collect

  • We do not permanently store your photos or Takeout archives on our servers.
  • We do not sell, share, or monetize your data in any way.
  • We do not use your data for advertising or training AI models.

Google API usage

PhotoBridge uses Google's OAuth 2.0 and the Google Picker API. We request the drive.file scope, which only grants access to files you explicitly select — we cannot browse or access any other files in your Google Drive.

Our use of Google APIs complies with the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Data storage and security

Your account data and metadata are stored in a PostgreSQL database hosted by Neon (EU). Cloud storage credentials are encrypted at rest using AES-256. All connections use TLS.

During a migration, selected Takeout archives and extracted media files may be temporarily written to worker disk so we can read the archive, merge metadata, and upload to your destination. These temporary files are deleted after processing; stale PhotoBridge temp files from an interrupted worker are cleaned up automatically.

Data retention

Your data is retained as long as your account is active. You can delete your account at any time by contacting us, and all associated data will be permanently removed.
